New TLD Local Food Companion Coupons

This newsletter is designed to bring you news about local food across the region and, perhaps just as importantly, discounts and deals on the local food you love to enjoy.  This week it’s 10% off any online purchase at Traverse Gourmet. Just use the coupon code in the box on the bottom of the page to order before November 15th.

And this orgnization also gives back! 1% of profits from Traverse Gourmet in 2013 will be donated to the Michigan Land Use Institute (MLUI).

Traverse Gourmet Coupon

Many of the local food entrepreneurs in this region are simply too small in scale to fit into the megalithic coupon mechanism that you’re used to seeing in retail stores.   So we’re trying to bridge that gap. Our first coupon deal comes from our friends and supporters Cile and Norm Plumstead and their business Traverse Gourmet. Traverse Gourmet is owned by two visionary Leelanau County stalwarts, Norm and Cile Plumstead. They’ve made a committment to give back 1% of their profits to the community. This year, they’ve picked the Michigan Land Use Institute (MLUI) to be the recipient of those funds.

Taste the Local Difference is a big consortium of farmers, producers, vendors, retailers, wholesalers, restaurants and institutions.   They all support local food. This newsletter is designed to help you, the consumer,  learn more about what locally grown and made food is available, and where to buy it.

Now our partners are stepping up to the plate to provide you with discount coupons, and deals on local food products to help make our goal of 20% local food by 2020 a reality.  Please join us in thanking Norm and Cile Plumstead by clicking on the coupon above and going to their website.  By using the code on the coupon (MLUI10) at checkout, you’ll earn a 10% discount, and Traverse Gourmet will donate 1% of the sale back to MLUI.  That’s a sweet deal we can all live with!

If you have a business that would like to put a discount coupon for your local food product in front of thousands of consumers in northwest Michgian, please let us know.  Contact Bill Palladino at  – BP
